5Puzzle After Puzzle Older Gamers Would Like  Jun 05, 2009 By B. Harrell
this game is a lot of fun and I think a lot of older DS players will enjoy it.There are four different types of puzzles to play, Up and Down words, Word Roundup, Quick Cross and a new one for me Hidato. Up and Down is fun where you have to choose a word that will tie into the next questions answer. Word roundup is like seek a word except you are given a hint to what the words are such as " 6 Breeds of Dogs" you have to find the six....it can get a tad hard..Quick Cross is a fast game where you have to put in 8 words like a corner of a crossword puzzle. Hidat0 is a number game and I must admit I get confused but it is fun and challenging. I am an older DS player, 64, and this is a good game for all of us who like word games. It is very relaxing. Even though you are timed it doesn't give you that rush rush feeling. I play this game every evening when I sit down to relax.

5Great Game!  Apr 10, 2009 By D. Kline
I love this game!

I've enjoyed doing Word Roundup, Quick Cross and Up & Down Words in the daily USA Today for ages. Here, each category of game has 400 puzzles, so it'll take a while to get through them all.

While I know nothing at all about Hidato, and wish they'd included crossword puzzles instead, I would definitely recommend this game. Besides - there's always a possibility of finding that I enjoy Hidato, as well!

5PUZZLE CRAZE  Jun 15, 2009 By Rachel Reese
I like word puzzles so I brought this game. It has four different types of puzzles which are: Quick Cross, Word Roundup, Hidato, and Up & Down Words. With each puzzle type, they give you 400 different puzzles, which will give you a variety and take plenty of time to do.

Quick Cross- I think this is like a little crossword puzzle. I don't like crosswords much, but maybe if I play this I will get used to it.

Word Roundup- These puzzles are the reason why I brought this game. Word Roundup is like a word search, but it doesn't give you a list of words to find, it gives you clues such as: find 4 states and you have to find the words that go with the clue. I'm a wordsearch lover and I mostly brought this Puzzle Craze game for this puzzle.

Hidato- This is a type of number game where they give you a grid and you have to fit the numbers 1-96 into it by putting them in order either: up & down, vertically, horiztonally, or diagonally. It can get confusing at times.

Up & down words- I think this is also a type of crossword but I think you have to have an answer that will go with the next clue, probably confusing, but maybe once I try it I will know what I'm doing.

After you finish each type of puzzle you earn stars and it will improve your ranking in the game.

I think this game is cool if you like these types of puzzles, but as I said I only brought this game mostly for the word roundup since I'm a wordsearch lover.

5Puzzle Craze is Crazy!  Mar 19, 2010 By Angela Lyman
I bought a DS for a vacation I was going on and I wanted something to occupy my travel time. My husband and I enjoyed playing the games at the same time. Once I got home, the kids hooked their DS with mine and we play head-to-head. I usually beat them, but I still had fun.

Lots of different puzzles. As often as I play, these games will keep me occupied for a LONG time. It was well worth the money spent. Enjoy!!

4Fun puzzles, but...  Jul 30, 2009 By L. DeFries
I love the USA Today puzzles and it is great to have them in the DS format. However, I wish they had been more creative with this game and had a "daily puzzle" format where you could do all four puzzles each day, like you do when you get the paper. A similar format to the Word Jong game would be great - daily puzzles, and then other single player options whereby you could choose any puzzle you want to do.

As you complete the puzzles in this game you move up floors in a skyscraper and work your way up from a peon in a newsroom to an editor... this, at least to me, is kind of lame and unnecessary. Let's just play the game without feeling like we have to level up...

And this is purely subjective, but the sound effects stink and I run my games with no sound.

I've also found a bit of repetition after only playing 25 games of each puzzle type.

That said, if you enjoy playing the games in the paper you'll enjoy having this game in the DS format. For all word game lovers, I highly recommend the Word Jong game. Talk about becoming addicted... that game rocks.
