4Fun, enjoyed it more than Olde World...  Sep 25, 2008 By Hunter's Wife "Diane"
Remember that this perspective is coming from a 37 year old woman. I reviewed the other Nancy Drew game, and I'll review the Hidden Staircase after I master it this weekend. (No challenging feat, I'm not bragging)

I liked this game. It was a bit longer than the last one and if you're familar with the mini-games, they really haven't changed. The story was better, and I have to admit, I had to locate a 'cheat' to figure out how the Grandfather clock worked.

For adults, this game is like a cheap novel; you can finish it in a few hours, its fun, requires very little brain-power and it takes your mind off of the real world.

I don't have kids, but my neighbor's teen beats us at Halo and everything else. I would image this might bore video game junkies.....

3A little better than the first DS game . . .  Sep 22, 2008 By V. Lewis "UnofficialNancyDrew"
This DS game for Nancy Drew was ok. Definitely better thanthe first in length and had a little more substance but not quite HerInteractive quality as of yet. Some of the puzzles were a little redundant, and there a few bugs in the game. I had to restart it twice because towards the end of the game, for example, Nancy got stuck on top of the roof in a corner and COULD NOT GET OUT. She kept walking back and forth like a zombie. I appreciate that there are Nacy Drew games coming out for DS because I like them on the go but there is still some work to be done. I would like HerInteractive to make a DS game, but not if it will affect the quality of the PC games. The rest of you companies keep up the progression.

4Another Cute Game for Younger Detectives  Aug 03, 2008 By Michael A. Kelly "Mikekelly"
Another fun little adventure game for the younger set. This adventure game is very similar to the first Nancy Drew DS game and while this game has its flaws, the adventure portions are quite good and fun to play.

The look is similar if not identical to the first Nancy Drew DS game and plays like it too. The mini-games are back and can get a little boring after a while. For me, the game was very simple and alot of fun so if you want a fun little game for on the go entertainment for younger gamers this one will be fine. Flawed but easy to play on the go. So - if you liked the first one - you'll like this one too.

1terrible in comparison to herinteractive's version  Dec 21, 2009 By Angel
I bought this on sale @ target in their "discounted" rack during the week of Christmas. I did not like this DS game at all. The graphics are horrid, and its hard to maneuver around. I found the game very disappointing for the 11 dollars I paid for it. I have played the Nancy Drew games by Her Interactive for the PC and I find them much more enjoyable. Besides being on a bigger screen you are not playing as a 3rd person, you play in 1st person. It was annoying to have to be on the correct "circle" to get into doors or different parts of the room. The worst puzzle was having to move around to different slots to each separate part of the slot for 5 different doors.

There was very little interaction with the characters and the items which I found very disappointing. You are running around in a scavenger hunt for things that I found really unnecessary and the music was reminiscent of an 8bit old school Nintendo game. This company may be trying to cash into the Nancy Drew franchiseNancy Drew: Warnings at Waverly Academy but I will not be purchasing anything from this company in the future and neither should you.
