Rename this game "BLASTER" Aug 21, 2009
By Samiam If you are looking for a DS game that actually challenges the kid to do more than one math problem in a minute, then this is NOT THE GAME you want. They threw in the name MATH to make it sound educational, but it is game trying to pass itself off as a learning tool. If you are looking for a game, then you won't be disappointed with this. If you are looking for an educational tool to help your kids learn math, this is NOT going to help them much!

I purchased this game with the intent to give my child a way to avoid having to do flashcards with me. Boy what a big dissapointment!!! The game is more like a video arcade game and has a lot of action in it but barely any math. If you are looking for a game with maybe 10% math splashed in here and there then this is good if you are looking for a game that will drill math facts into them this is not it.
I have also purchased math coach which is excellent.....we can totally avoid flash cards with this and my second favorite purchase is learn math which is not a teaching tool but good solid review and practice.

Great value game Jun 16, 2009

This is the first Maths game that my son hasn't finished within a week. It has heaps of levels to keep him going. He says it's fun -- we got it coz he loved the CD-ROM version before. This he says is similar. He was almost disappointed when he had been playing it off and on for a weekend and had 'only' got to level three. I thought 'great! - this game will last a few months, this time!'. And it has. And he's still not finished. So good on them for packing in lots of difficulty levels.

Not as good as PC version Aug 02, 2010 We bought this game to help my 8 year old son with his basic mental math skills, which need improvement. I figured since he loves his DS so much, this made sense. However, he didn't enjoy anywhere near as much as the version for his laptop. Overall: the game is good for basic math skills, but isn't as much fun as the PC version. If it's not fun, it won't keep them interested, so what's the point.

math blaster Oct 19, 2009
By C. Carpenter I got this for my 11yo who struggles a bit in math, thinking it would be a "fun way to learn". She is not impressed.
