Just as good as the original! Dec 25, 2007
By A. Hasting I can't figure out why that other reviewer gave this game three stars. It's a great game.
I was impressed with how well this translated to the "small screen." The images are crisp and clear, the controls are highly responsive (lag time would kill you on this game), and it is generally an entertaining time-waster. If you're thinking of getting it for a child, understand that there is really no educational value, although I think it encourages cognitive planning. My 7-year-old, who loves the Luxor computer games, is crazy for this one. She is able to play it without the frustration she has experienced with many popular children's DS titles (i.e. the ones with teenage TV personalities on the cover). She figured out the controls without my help, and I didn't hear from her for at least 20 minutes, except, "I'm on level 4!." I enjoy it, as well.
True, it is not terribly different from the computer version. I consider that a positive. We were expecting the Luxor we know and love, which is what we got. If you are interested in a "test drive," go to the Gamehouse website and download the 60-minute trial of one of the computer Luxor games. That should give you enough of a taste to decide if you will like this. The Luxor versions for the computer are the same basic idea as this: shooting marbles at a marble "snake" to make the snake disappear before it gets to the end of the track.

Great game, love it Jun 09, 2008
By Cottonjenn I just received this game the other day and have been playing it ever since. About a month ago I purchased Magnetica (from Amazon-someone said you couldn't get it but you can) but I'm liking this one better because it's closer to Zuma. The different levels and screens are really good. I like knowing when I'm going to a different level (not like in Magnetica). I am an older adult who is into video games and this is pretty good. If you like Zuma you'll like this.

Fun game, but gets old fast. Feb 15, 2008

I bought this game because Zuma is not yet available on DS and I love playing it (Zuma) on my Ipod. Luxor is very well designed - the screens are very pretty and the music and sound effects are excellent complements to the game play. But like Magnetica, it gets boring after a while. it could be because I have it set to medium difficulty and of the first 70 or so levels I have only lost two times... and it seems like you get TONS of power ups and electrical storms so there isn't much of a challenge... I'll bump up the difficulty level one of these days, but for now, it is fun to play but it is not something I think I will play forever like Tetris or Battleship...

Now you can play Luxor ANYWHERE!!! Feb 08, 2008

The fun that used to be reserved for the spot in front of my PC screen can now be experienced anywhere! The car, the doctor's office waiting room, the department of motor vehicles, the bathroom...boredom is now optional!

great graphics, just like playing it on the big screen. i think this may be the best game i own for my DS. if you like action and speed it is well worth the money. it is a challenge for the eye - hand coordination. would highly recommend this game to anyone.
