Great Transition from toy to game! Oct 24, 2008
By C. Irish
"Read On!"
I bought this game for my 9 year old daughter for her birthday. After I gave it to her I didn't see her for quite awhile. She is still heavily playing it after several days. Her 11 year old sister likes it too. The pets are adorable like the toys and the animation is wonderful. You unlock pets and mini games and items as you go along through the game. This game has a lot of variety. My daughter enjoys the coloring game. You play the games and get awarded ribbons and kibbles as points. There seem to be quite a few games to keep the kids interested. You can name the pets as you unlock them and try to collect them all. New locations are unlocked too. I would recommend this no fighting, non violent kids game, especially if your kids are or were into the Littlest Pet Shop toys. There are play sets to play on and different areas to explore. It's a neat little game that employs many different challenges and activities in a fun atmosphere.
If I ever get the chance I am going to spend some time playing it too!

Lots of fun for my little 5 year old girl Nov 30, 2008

"Technophile"
My little 5 year old daughter used to fight with her 8 year old brother for the gameboy. Eventually we bought her her own - but she never seemed to enjoy the games as much as her brother. Many DS games are too hard for little kids and most involve reading. Lately my daughter has been playing with littlest pet shop toys so it seemed like a really likely choice for a DS game she would enjoy all on her own. Sure enough it keeps her interest and she really enjoys it. Littlest Pet Shop: Winter has reading - so little ones will need some help getting started. But there are lots of simple activities and games well pitched to small children that hold their interest once they get in such as
* pick and name and dress up a bunch of littlest pets
* Coloring (a game where points (kibble) are awarded for how closely you can match the example). Not only do little ones have to stay in the lines, they must pick colors and pen widths from a simple menu.
* Treasure hunt (you move around over a little meadow and dig looking for easter eggs.
* lots more - and more games and new pets are unlocked as kids work their way through.
The graphics are really nice and the overall tone is sweet, nice, and non-violent.

Good starter game for younger kids; a little boring for big kids & adults. Jan 24, 2009
By Danielle My daughter likes the Littlest Pet Shop toys so I bought her this game for X-mas. She played with it for a few days but then got bored with it. She told me the games were too easy and there wasn't much else to do. She's very experienced with video games for her age (7 years old) so perhaps that has something to do with it. I think a younger child or one her age that isn't familiar with video games will like it.
I tried playing with it myself, and though it is super cute, I think it's too simple a game for teens and adults. One thing I don't like about it is that you can't choose which pets you want, they give random pets to you at certain intervals. Also, there isn't much to do with your pets except dress them up. The games are not challenging enough for adults to play. I got bored with it fifteen minutes into the game.
Cute game, but I wouldn't buy it unless it's for someone 7 years old and under.

My 6-year-old loves this game Feb 19, 2009
By Kendra Gehring

My daughter got a DS for Christmas last year and this game was the first game she opened. Once she got the hang of the DS and the game, she loved being able to go through the different tasks and unlocking the various animals. 2 months later, she's still playing it quite a bit - she'd actually spend hours playing it if I would let her. The game is easy enough for her to go through the various activities and follow the directions without getting frustrated, but yet not too simple that she gets bored with it.
That said, I can understand how older kids and adults might not find this game as fun as other games out there. But for the time being, while my daughter still finds it fun, I'd defintely say it's a keeper.
