Better than it looks Jun 30, 2011
By Rick Moore Okay. I've been waiting for someone to review this before I buy it and nothing's happening. So, I bought it out of curiosity. So, here's my first impressions of the game after one session so far. (I'll update this review after spending more time with the game.) I like this game. As far as sports goes, it's actually not a full sports game...meaning in each of the sports represented, you only play one element of it for the most part. For instance, baseball is more like batting practice. You play the batter and try to swing to accomplish a home run hit. It's fun and like all of the sports represented in this game, it seems too easy....at first! After a few levels the real challenge sets in. For instance, in archery (my favorite so far) you just pull back the bow, aim, and try to get a bulls eye. At first, I thought, "This is going to get boring really fast...it's too easy. This must be for little kids." But then the wind factor popped up, then, an additional varying distance made it more challenging....next, in addition to wind and distance, the target became a moving tartget - loads of fun!!! Skiing utilizes the dual sylus better than the other sports I've tried so far. Apart from skiing, the dual stylus thing just seems like a gimmick because it seems the same thing can be accomplished with buttons and a single stylus to me...maybe I'll feel differently about that the more I play it. I'll let you know. The graphics are nice and the 3D works well. The grahics are similar to the Hotshots series. I'm a 55 year old so I don't mind a laid back game like this. It's not the type of game that gets you all frantic and hyper. It's a calm pleasant game. This is more of an olympic competition-style game where you compete in single events. I like that. I think most people will enjoy adding this title to their 3DS collection.

Good bit of fun...not much gameplay here though... Oct 10, 2011
By CookedXenon While it boasts 7 mini games, its really not the full games, you don't have a full boxing match or a full baseball game. Everything is challenges based upon those games. Such as a hitting challenge. Or a knockdown challenge. While they are fun...they eventually start to get stale. It gets more difficult and things unlock over time. But don't expect too much out of this. The gimmick is two stylus to play the game, I found most games were perfectly playable with one stylus. Remember, the touch pad can only handle one stylus at a time (only one thing can touch the touchpad at any given time, you can't register two movements on the touchpad at once), the two stylus control is simply so you can do things with two hands and go from one command to another faster. But with a little extra challenge, you can do the same with one hand and one stylus. This makes it easier to play and keep the 3D on. But don't expect much from the 3D either...some games look really nice like boxing and paragliding. Others however look way too strong and not well done (ghosting, seeing double..changing the 3D slider doesn't fix it much either). I found myself turning the 3D way down or even off. Graphically there isn't much to this game and I feel this is just a juiced up DS game that was put on the 3DS instead. There is fun to be had here, this will pass the time, but you may find yourself getting tired after awhile of the same thing over and over. The 7 mini-games are based on Baseball, Boxing, Paragliding, Archery, Basketball, Soccer and Skiing. They have an 8-bit DIG DUG logo make an appearance which is neat. But overall...its not much of a game. They add in daily challenges and finger exercises. They work and will kill some time but they are just tack-ons. Definately a game more for the younger players and mainstream non-gamers. Because it's a little on the easy side. It's not a bad game, its just not much of a game. Don't go into this expecting full sports games.

Great for home gaming! not outside. Jul 30, 2011

WOAH!!! This is so much better than what I was expecting!!! It has SUPER HIGH replay value. You'll be enjoying this game so much that you'll want to play it everyday! (DAILY CHALLENGES!!!) This is very addicting... although at first, you may find it hard to play those games using both hands. My left hand finds it hard to slide straight and tap accurately. The really nice thing about this game is that it actually included "extra exercises" for your non-dominant hand, and you'll get much better at using that hand after playing some of those exercises. The 3d effects works really good if you can keep your head fixed at that "sweet spot"
But the fact that it restrict you to play the mini games on a flat surface really ruins the whole idea of "portable console"... I was going to give this 5 stars but seriously folks... putting it on a flat surface makes it really hard to enjoy this game fully. Only a few of the games are "full". Most of them are parts of a sport. And the awkward controls can make the game a whole lot harder for those people who are not "athletically inclined"
HEY. BUT OVERALL The addicting gameplay and high replayability really makes it hard to blame the awkward controls.
Fun but tricky Apr 07, 2012
By Anna M. Pitt This game was fun but a couple of the games it takes awhile to learn to use two stylus' - You need to put it on a table to play
