Excellent for Pokemon Fans and Dinosaurs Lovers Jan 04, 2009 I was pretty excited when I finally got Dinosaur King for DS. I mean, I like dinosaurs, and I like pokemon, so all I had to do was hope that it wouldn't be one of the dozens of games that tried to copy off pokemon. Breaking News: It wasn't! This is a fantastic, original game. Apparantley based on a T.V. show, the story line is excellent ( although a little confusing at first, if you're new to it ). And its sound is very good; I get the urge to hum the background battle music to myself sometime! But, though the easy-to-use gameplay, music, and story line are good, the graphics take the cake. The dinosaurs are finely detailed, right down to the number of fingers and protrusions on some of their noses. The dinosaurs walk and attack realistically, and the attacks are awesome! Let me explain: You know how in pokemon its just two-dimensional pixelated creatures moving slightly around and shooting stuff ( No offense to the Pokemon seies; I'm a big fan ). Well, in Dinosaur King, the dinosaurs get right up to each other and use awesome-looking melee attacks. I can watch my dinos fighting again and again but it looks so cool that it never gets old because its 3-dimensional and incredibaly detailed for a DS game. I hope this review was useful and have fun with the game!

Lots of Prehistoric Fun! Mar 14, 2009
By Working Mom

This is a really fun game in which you get to pick a "starter" dinosaur. Then you have to fight and beat a T-Rex and you uncover fossils. The fossils turn into dinosaurs and those dinosaurs grow more powerful. Then the dinos must save the world from bad guys who try to take over with other dinosaurs. You and dinosaurs travel to each of the continents to prevent the bad guys from taking over.
You find fossils using a drill that you can upgrade thus enabling you to dig deeper for more fossils. Sometimes you find other things too, like ancient underwear.
My 8.5YO says this is a really fun game and highly recommends it.

Awesome for Dinosaur Lovers Apr 02, 2009

This game is awesome for Dinosaur lovers. A great selection of dinosaurs and unlockable moves, just like the hit TV show. You dig for fossils and artifacts and challenges wait around every corner. I'm 17 and this game is still a little challenging for me, which proves it is for any age. This game is a must have for dino lovers

Pretty cool, UNTIL.... Mar 16, 2009

Game was lively, fun and entertaining, until I realized that the dino battles were decided by nothing more than a rock-paper-scissors game, and that these battles were forced upon you with infuriating frequency while trying to explore archeological sites. Thank you, no.

Good for a while, but just a while Jul 08, 2010
By Finnaebrithil Ok, first of all I' d like to say who I am. I'm a 13 year old boy, who loves Zelda, Pokemon and Mario and doesn't like Dinosaur King. Before I say everything bad about the game, I'll say the good parts: The graphics are simply awesome! The tridimensional attacks are wonderful and really make you hope your dinosaur attacks, so you can see it in action. Now, let's move to the bad parts: In Pokemon, your pokemons level up naturaly, as you go on in the adventure. Unfortunately, this doesn't happens in Dinosaur King. When you reach the region's boss, your dinosaurs are usualy much weaker than his/hers, so you have to go back and train your dinosaur in the places you've already explored. But the worst part is the battle gameplay: the game treats you like a fool! Your attacks are sorted as Rock, Paper or Scissors. Rock beats scissors, scissors beats rock, and rock is beaten by paper. It seems ok, but your opponent always follows some logic. For example, he always uses the attack that would beat the one you used on your last turn. These logics can be grasped in two to four turns. Therefore, you can always win the battles very easily!! The bosses use more complicated logics, but it just takes a bit more time to grasp them. And the bosses are TOO STRONG, I mean, it takes A LOT of time to train your dinosaurs. And the battles get repetitive very quickly. Really don't recommend it.
